Peter Gloger is partial to the Mago Estate Hotel. The owner of the St. Lucian resort, Gloger’s personal history with the property allows him to feel more connected with his guests.
The hotel, nestled in the rainforest just north of Soufriere, was originally built as the Gloger family’s private estate. “We took possession in 1985,” Gloger said.
But, according to Gloger, after the family hired staff, they began renting portions of the estate to locals.
“The first part of the house was for our family,” said Gloger, “but we had a lot of empty space.”
